Kells Drag Race

The day after the Sunflower Willie and I headed down the the first ever Kells Drag race. It was a fund raising effort by the club to try raise money for the road race after a big loss 2 years in a row. I was riding the 650 and Willie was riding the R6!

The quarter mile was a section of road on the back straight of the new circuit for the Kells road race for next year.
The fastest men in the country were in attendance including the likes of Shane Wogan and Jack Frost!

The pity for the club was that the weather went against them, it rained all day and the track was just too wet for the big bikes to get grip, they were spinning up too much.

We both enjoyed the day, my best time was a 11.8 second run and Willies best was a 12.5 second run.
I won the B class, which was the first thing I had ever won on a bike so i was pleased with it.
All in all despite a wet day we enjoyed the few blasts up the road and enjoyed the craic. It was good to practice some starts for next year too!

Thanks for reading!
